A supposedly Short but not so Short trip to a Mall

Ugh, hello. We are tired and over-socialised from being with each other for too long.

Today I woke up with a headache but after having a McDonalds home delivered lunch I felt much better and we decided to continue with the plan of going to VivoCity. Around three we left home and took the twenty minutes or so ride via MRT to HarbourFront. There were a lot of people in the mall and of course I had not considered this but should have known since Singaporeans really like shopping (mostly because of the AC).

First thing we did was to go to Team Salon and asked if they had any time soon to cut two persons. Immediately we got to take our seats. A girl not understanding much English showed me to the washing area; a relaxing room with small blue lights. They had the best chairs I have ever seen in a hair salon! Laying down comfortably, feet on a small stool and head resting easily on a small cushion inside the basin. Two times shampoo and then some hot towels under the neck and on top of the head. Then a guy started cutting my hair while John was half-way through. I showed pictures of the last time I had it cut and he was really good at making it look the same.

It was much better than I have ever had my hair cut in Sweden. At first I was a bit scared since they have other styles here in Singapore, but I am totally pleased. John had some problems and adjustments until he asked for my opinion and when I said it looked good he was happy too.

We walked around browsing stores looking for colourful shorts for us both, sunglasses and hats for me. Found none. The fashion here is not what we usually like and we can not find the right colours for us. But then again, we had the same problem in Sweden. Which countries have colourful clothes?

We passed through Best Denki and came out with a straightener for me and speakers for John. Slowly filling our home with all the technological products that one may think that they need. Although, John wants to hear what is happening on his computer and I really want my hair straight some times (and help the curls get into shape).

Giving up on shopping we went to eat at the food court. Bought some unknowingly (but later understandable) expensive food; I had sweet chicken leg and rice, John had two types of meat and rice. I really wanted dumplings but we both got pretty full from those meals and so that was not an option anymore. We then proceeded to Giant and bought some stuff that has been on our list for quite some time now.

Came home to our cat Ymir greeting us by the door. Relaxed a bit in the sofa and then heard heavy rain and thunder. That means we got lucky, since you really never know when it is going to start and you might just as well get soaked after just a few steps in the rain.

Oh, and perhaps I should tell you that it is a public holiday today called Hari Raya Puasa which is the end of Ramadan, therefor John had a day of work.

Happy Wednesday!

The FoodJunction food court at VivoCity is designed to look like it is outside.
