Shouting for Japan

Saturday was a long day. We got so many things done that Sunday flew by with nothing done at all. I guess that is how we spend our weekends - one day doing things, the other doing nothing. It is functional. Highly recommend. It is nice especially since John is working five days a week, so when weekends come I want to do things with him and he wants to do nothing. Works out quite perfect!

By lunchtime on Saturday we were picked up by Ash and Steve. They live at the edge of the country, so it took half an hour or so to get to their place. On the way we stopped by at a mall to pick up some lunch. We bought burritos at Stuff'd and headed to their home. That was the first time we actually were there, though we have passed by in a car once before.

Greeting her family we gathered around the table and ate together. It was a really good burrito. I was really stuffed afterwards! We then went to their room and closed the door behind us. I have not mention this before, but we are going to JAPAN! In September we are spending twelve days in three cities. We booked our temporary homes in their bedroom, finding one Starbucks-themed apartment that we had to take! It is going to be so much fun, I am really looking forward to it! Great fun!

After finishing booking that, also (accidentally) leaving one night free to sleep at a capsule hotel, we played one round of Pictionary before having to leave. We got in the car and drove towards Bedok, on the way stopping to buy a chocolate cake. In Bedok, an area in Singapore, we went to Cash Studio and got our KTV room. The other people we were meeting were out having dinner and would arrive later. While we waited we sang Britney Spears as a warm up, great karaoke songs! When the three other guys arrived we continued with loud singing.

A man who worked there had to come in during our session to lower the volume. We had raised it so much the mics were making strange noises. It all worked out in the end, though nobody wanted to stop shouting. I felt my voice breaking and was sure it would be gone the next day. Luckily it was not. With Ash and Steve there we did a lot of rapping, those two being great at it! John did one song in a monotone voice which was so much fun to hear I even recorded it (I will not upload it anywhere though).

We had three hours in that small room. Once the time was up, the others asked if we wanted to go for dinner, but John and I felt it was time to go home. We ordered an Uber and was home by midnight. Instead of eating a full dinner we settled with just a bowl of yogurt each. It was a good day, a long day, and during the next day it was worth not doing anything at all.
