Sleepy Four Days

John has been home for four days! I have missed him a lot, but I think his jetlag is contagious. Since Monday I have been so tired, both of us went to bed at ten o'clock last night. That said, you will understand that not much has happened during these days. We went out to have dinner at a restaurant yesterday, but after eating John almost fell asleep at the table!

At noon on Monday I stood in the car park waiting for John's taxi to arrive. When it did, John came out and we hugged while the driver unloaded the luggage. It was so good to have him home again! I unpacked all of his clothes, filling two machines, and just took it easy for the rest of the day. John was not very hungry when it was dinner time, understandably since it was in the middle of the night for him physically. We went to bed at a good time, though he had trouble sleeping.

On Tuesday I woke up feeling tired. Ymir had woken us up early, refusing to understand that we wanted to sleep, and at half past five I gave him breakfast. Though we both went back to bed, I do not think either one of us managed to get back to deep sleep. Whenever we actually went up John made us delicious sandwiches containing salami, ham, cheese, tomatoes and seasoning. All was well. We gamed most of the day, John too tired to do much else.

Yesterday it was Wednesday and he had finally gotten the appetite to eat out. Haven been two week in the US, he really wanted some good dumplings. We decided to eat early and took the MRT one station to Holland Village around half past five. There is a Crystal Jade there that we like, though it is not as good as our all time favourite dumpling-restaurant Din Tai Fung. John ordered a lot and even though I said that is enough for two people he insisted on having a plate of rice too. In the end we left half the plate of rice and half the bowl of noodles. Everything was very tasty! We had a double batch of Xiao Long Bao, which is dumplings with soup inside that almost melts inside your mouth. We ate until we could eat no more. That was when John's eyes almost closed and he proclaimed to be very tired. We paid and left.

Though both of us were full and tired we walked home. It is not very far and it felt nice in the moist air left behind from the rain. Back home we sat by the computers for a while, but we were both exhausted and found nothing to entertain us with. So we decided to put on a movie and have it as a timer - we could go to sleep once it was finished. We started watching BFG but halfway through John said he needed to go to bed. I was not fighting him on it, I was tired too for some reason. At ten we went to bed and slept.
