Today I had lunch with Thomas in the hawker stall downstairs. He ate the classic chicken and rice and I my classic dumplings. Since this was the first time Thomas was in Singapore we talked about how it was to live here, what was expensive/cheap and what kind of sightseeing we could do. I had much to tell since I really enjoy living here.
Annika arrived in the afternoon. Only a full day later than she would have. Her passport was one or two months too close to expiration date to enter Singapore, so in Finland she had to get a preliminary passport, which meant she had to stay the night and take the flight the next day. There was no trouble getting to our home and while she unpacked we sat on the floor listening to her adventure at the airport.
When John left work we decided to go meet him at Holland Village. It was a short and sweaty walk but when we arrived there was a few moments of hugging party. Went to the street with all the restaurants (Annika remembering the area from when she was here in Mars-April) and sat down at Cha Cha Cha since we knew this was a good place to eat. We talked a lot and eventually ordered. John and Annika took Chimichangas; one beef, one chicken, shared. Thomas chose Caldillo - beef strew, Mexican rice and flour tortillas and I had some chicken fajitas. The food was as expected - tasty and satisfying.
When we were done we walked across the street to have some ice cream. John and I only knew about the place, never had the chance to actually try it. It is called The Daily Scoop and they serve some interesting flavours. I had the Avocado ice cream. Surprisingly good! Annika chose Salty Chocolate and it was apparently the best ice cream she ever had. John had Lemon Sorbet, being safe and all. Trying nothing new nor exciting.
We sat outside eating and talking before leaving. Promenaded home. Cuddled in our sofa, talked about life, made their beds and finally went to sleep.
