I read the book Around the World in Eighty Days when I was fifteen and absolutely loved it. The story was old but futuristic in a way the real world never developed into (yet). The characters are well written and are deeply set into their given traits. The English Gentleman will never step outside the box of what an English Gentleman would do. The French valet will always look after his master no matter the cost. Super-stereotypical.

In this story-game you are the valet Passepartout and will make every decision the duo takes. Start of in London and travel by train to France. From there it is up to you. You will always have the options to explore the city, which will most likely reveal several new options of travel; visit the market to sell belongings or buy signature findings from the city; visit the bank if you need to withdrawl money, although this option will leave you in dept in used too frequent; plan your next move and see how long you will have to stay in this city. The goal is to get back to London within eithy days; time being measured inside the game and every action has a time-cost.

My advise is to look at the departures once you have arrived in the new city since exploring takes four hours. Depending on the time this will be unfortunate if the bank is closed and you will need to stay a few days either way. Know how long you will have to stay and take out money that will arrive the same day you plan to travel onwards. Another tip is to always buy a unique item which will sell for a lot more money in another city. While travelling there will be options to tend to your master, have a conversation or wait and read the newspaper. Waiting is often the last option I would take but I discovered it will sometimes open up a route I would not have discovered if not.

I truly enjoyed this game. Whether you have read the book or not you will most likely enjoy it. Every time I play, it brings me a new story. There are so many cities to discover and routes to travel by. My last trip lasted sixty six days, but then we were held up in Honolulu after my master got sick and almost died.
